Conover Center - 4665 Co. Rd. K East
The Conover Center is the government office headquarters for the Town of Conover.  The Conover Center was opened in the Fall of 1997 after the Elementary School was opened in Land o’Lakes.  The Conover Center is a block and brick building constructed in 1972 and served as the Conover Elementary School for the Northland Pines School District until vacated in 1997.  The Center is over 11,000 square feet of area and in 1999, the United States Postal Service moved into a 1500 Sq Ft area.

The Center has been face lifted and molded into a center for much of the Town’s organizational and government activity.  The facility is basically a town hall but because of its size in comparison to other like town halls, it is called the “Conover Center.”  Meetings, training, social events, and voting are several of the activities held within its wall.  The facility is self-sufficient and is a designated disaster (emergency government) shelter because it will always have running water and electricity due to a generator that powers the entire building, including the Post Office.

Conover Fire Facility - 4661 Co. Rd. K East
The Conover Fire and EMS Facility is located on the same parcel of land as is the Conover Center.  The Building houses the Conover Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Conover Ambulance and is just to the East of the Conover Center and U. S. Post Office.  See the "Contact Us" page for other information.

The State of Wisconsin’s mandatory Recycling Law prohibits the co-mingling of trash with recyclables.  Site Attendant Don Borlick will explain the process or a detailed brochure and guide can be requested so that you can read about the procedures.  A “punch card” is needed for you to dispose of your trash.  The punch card is available from the site attendant or from the Town Office located in the Conover Center.  The standard punch card costs $40 (payable to the Town of Conover) and the card contains 24 areas to be punched.  The attendant will make a punch on the card for each standard 33 – gallon size container or bag of trash.  Only garbage (trash) is associated with the punch card.  Recyclables are collected free.

By removing the recyclables from your trash can and bags, you will be lawfully complying State Requirements and also conserving space in your trash can and bag for your garbage; therefore saving punches.  Items considered recyclable are:  aluminum cans, bi-metal cans, milk jugs, bleach & detergent bottles, clear, green and brown container glass, cardboard, newspaper, office paper and magazines to name a few.

The site will take recycled motor/engine oil.  Bring your oil in milk jugs for recycling.  Any other items that may be questionable, ask the site attendant or contact the Town Office.
